James L. Warner


James L. Warner is a partner and a Vice President of Investment Advisory Services at Sanderson Wealth Management, LLC. Jim’s main role is as a client relationship manager. He also functions as compliance officer, maintains internal financial records, and handles revenue collection. In addition, Jim co-manages the performance reporting system and is a member of Sanderson’s investment committee. He has earned the designations of Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner, and Certified Investment Management Analyst.

Prior to joining Sanderson Wealth Management, Jim was a Tax Manager with Ernst & Young from 1997 to 2001. His area of expertise was within the Personal Financial Consulting Group, with a focus on building and supporting the Investment Advisory Services practice. He also had six years of public accounting experience, primarily with Gaines Kriner Elliott LLP. Jim’s memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Investment Management Consultants Association.

Jim received a Master of Business Administration in 1991 with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from the University of Rochester’s William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Psychology from the University of Rochester where he received national honors as an Academic All-American athlete in swimming.

In 1997, Jim co-founded Computers For Children, Inc., a non-profit organization that collects, refurbishes, and upgrades donated computers to place them in schools where they will provide advanced learning opportunities for children. The group also provides computer hardware and software training to students. Jim served as treasurer and financial director on the board of directors for its first seven years of operation, and in 2010 he resumed those roles.
